In General ... Bethlehem finished 2nd to Saratoga Springs at both the NY Federation and NXR-New York meets last year, and then finished a very good 11th at NXN Nationals ... Bethlehem returns 6 of 7 runners from those races which will place them nicely in the pre-season National rankings.

East Aurora finished a very nice 3rd at NXR-New York last year ... East Aurora returns all 7 runners from that race which makes them a serious contender to qualify for NXN Nationals this coming season.

Saratoga Springs has been a perennial contender at NXN Nationals where they finished 6th last year and won in 2022 and 2019 ... Saratoga graduated their top 3 runners from NXR and NXN, but they still have some ability to contend in NY.

Not far behind are a group of teams with possible potential ... Shenendehowa, Northport, Fayetteville-Manlius and others ... Improvement at various positions and/or inclusion of new impactful runners (which does occurred) could elevate them to a challenging position.

Cornwall finished 2nd at last year's Class B race and return 5 of 7 runners (losing 1 scorer) ... Cornwall does have a speed rating advantage over Burnt Hills through 4 scorers, so Cornwall is a serious contender for Class B.

Tappan Zee and Pittsford Sutherland finished 4th and 5th, respectively, at last year's State Class B race ... Tappan Zee returns 6 of 7 runners (but lose their #1 scorer) ... Pittsford Sutherland returns 3 of 7 runners. 

Class B could be interesting ... New and improved runners could be the factor to determine the finish positions at the State Class B race.

East Aurora handily won the State Class C race both last year (by 55 points) and the previous year ... East Aurora returns all 7 runners making them a big favorite to repeat as Class Champion.

Adirondack finished 2nd at last year's Class C race and returns 6 of 7 runners (losing the #2 scorer) ... South Jefferson lost to Adirondack at the Section 3 State Qualifier (by only 13 points) and return 6 of 7 runners (including the top 4 scorers) ... South Jefferson seems to have a slight speed rating advantage entering the season, but I assume it will be very competitive.

Section 1 teams (Bronxville and Pleasantville) also appear to have a competitive race to make the State Meet ... Note: Only the winning team in each section & each class make the State Meet.

As usual, lots of uncertainty in the projections for many teams.

St. Anthony's is the defending CHSAA XC Championship once again ... they return 6 of 7 from that race (losing only their #1 scorer) ... They are fairly deep for this group classification.

Hunter College Campus won the PSAL Championship last year (without Dylan McElhinney who was competing unattached) ... Hunter College Campus would have the top one-two punch assuming both Ella Cohen and Dylan McElhinney compete for the team ... But even in that case, I do not know if Hunter College Campus will have a scoring 5 capable of being competitive at the State-level (or beating St. Anthony's).

As normal, lots of uncertainty for most of the teams in the CHSAA-PSAL-AIS grouping entering a new season ... Just one or two new runners, transfers, etc. for any team will make a major difference ... Just assume uncertainty.
