How To Read the Table Information: The number following the name is the school grade for the 2017 XC season. The "Class" in parentheses pertains to the 2017 XC season. The XC data listed below the name are, in order, the race name, race date, place, actual race time, and speed rating (higher is faster).  Selected track data are also listed for most runners.  My Boys XC performance database and Boys track & field performance database are available on separate web-pages.

 

Nathan Lawler    12    Pittsford Mendon   (Section 5 - Class B)
Nathan Lawler enters the 2017 XC season as the top overall-rated harrier in NY State ... he was NY Junior Runner-of-the Year in 2016, and is one of the select runners nationally with an overall speed rating of 190+ from the 2016 season ... Nathan is the returning Class B champion and he finished an excellent 2nd at the NY NXN Regional (193 speed rating) ... Although he didn't have his best race at NXN Nationals, he is still the #11 returning runner from NXN Nationals ..... In track, Nathan set PRs at 1600m (4:19.48) and a major PR at 3200m (9:03.87).

Definitely a key runner to watch this coming XC season.

 CLASS A

Class A has five returning runners with overall speed ratings of 180
or higher ... Silas Defel is the top-rated Class A runner entering the
2017 season, but it appears to be very competitive for all of the top
spots in Class A.

Like last year, I expect to see some runners stepping-up and performing
at a higher XC level based on specific XC or track performances ... I'm
guessing that at least one (and probably more) will post 190 speed ratings
this coming season.
