| IAC Championships - Section
4 (at Dryden High School) ... The IAC Track & Field Meet is contested
over a two-day period with both boys and girls competing ... this time
format allows additional rest between races with hopefully faster times ...
for example, the seeded 1500/1600 meters is run on Day 1 and the seeded
3000/3200 meters is run on Day 2 ... I am posting only a selected
results here ...
Day 1 ... Molly Huddle (Elmira Notre Dame) ran the fastest 1500 meters thus far this season (4:30.6) ... this was slightly faster than her time run at the Waverly Invitational on April 27 (4:30.7) ... Patty Diedrich (Waverly) set a new Section 4 record in the 100 meter hurdles (14.2) ... a few photos and additional results are below ... Day 2 ... Molly Huddle (Elmira Notre Dame) won the 3000 meters in excellent time (9:31.9) under the cool and breezy conditions ... Molly just missed her own Section 4 record (9:31.6) ... Nate Lockett (Moravia) won the 3200 meters in a very good time (9:41.8) ... Nate won the 1600 meters (4:26.6) on the first day of competition.
