Girls State Qualifiers ... Melissa Usack (Lansing) was an impressive winner in both the 300m (43.1) and 600m (1:37.8) ... Alexis Lake (Horseheads, 2:57.2) and Sara Rice (Elmira Southside, 2:58.5) turned in excellent performances in the 1000m run ... Sara returned later and helped Elmira Southside win the 4x800 Relay in an outstanding time of 9:33.8 ... the Elmira SS 4x800 relay splits were Lindzie Foster (2:23.0), Sara Rice (2:22.3), Jen Jezorski (2:25.1) and Janelle Rice (2:23.5), which will make them very competitive in the State Meet. Boys State Qualifiers ... Nate Lockett (Moravia) qualified in both distance races by winning the 1600m (4:41.0) and finishing second in the 3200m (9:45.2) ... Krys Usack (Corning) won the 3200m (9:42.8) ... Ben Hedbon (Groton) was an impressive winner in the 1000m (2:36.7) |
