The top speed rating in the boy's race was 198, winner Dylan Jacobs ... his previous seasonal best was 193, but he did have two 196 speed ratings last year (and I believe he had some injury/sickness problems this season) ... Graydon Morris (2nd) had a break-out race speed rating PR (197 ... previous seasonal best 189, but I did not rate all of his prior races) ... Daniel Kilrea (3rd in this race, 196 speed rating) was consistent with other seasonal ratings ... John Tatter (4th, 196 rating) set a very nice speed rating PR ... the next group of runners were consistent enough with prior speed ratings for the race adjustment I used to determine the speed ratings.

This was the first time in the 14 years of NXN Nationals when the top boy's speed rating at NXN Nationals was higher than at Foot Locker Finals.

Watching the race web-cast, I wonder if the visible dust being kicked-up by the lead vehicle had an effect on some runners ... Also, I wonder if the air quality was compromised by the near-by wild-fires (air particulates do not need to to visible or smell-able to have an effect on some people, especially some people with allergies, like me).
