All-American runners Kelsey Margey (Harborfields) and Samantha Nadel (North Shore) attended Foundation Cross-Country Camp (www.foundationxccamp.com) at Camp Pontiac in Copkake NY this past summer ... Shown are the two training and preparing for the NXN meet and cross-country season (according to North Shore Coach Neal Levy); they are jumping hay bales in the photo; hay bales are rumored to litter the XC course at Portland Meadows ... As many know Margey ran 4:42 for the full mile this past spring, and Nadel holds the NY indoor 5K state record of 17:15 ... Nadel recently ran 17:35 in a 5K road race ... Both are reportedly at tremendous fitness levels right now.

This will be the first season of XC for Kelsey Margey ... Samantha Nadel had some physical problems at the end of XC last year, but did finish 2nd at the Great American Race of Champions in North Carolina in early Oct (149 speed rating).

The Saratoga Girls and Boys team ran the Silks & Satins 5K road race ... Sam Place was the top high school boy's finisher and Margaret MacDonald was the top high school girl's finisher ... Shortly after I posted the Top NYS Girls Individual Profiles, several people e-mailed me saying Margaret MacDonald could be very good this XC season and should be included on anybody's "Watch List" for the upcoming season - Right now I must agree! ... I looked for photos of her in my library, but came up empty ... Found one from the Saratogian newspaper on-line and one from ArmoryTrack (both posted at left).
