I started by including 32 teams and then proceeded to progressively eliminate lowest scoring teams until only 17 teams remained. Shaker is clearly the top-rated team not qualifying for States ... Burnt Hills, Washingtonville and FM are effectively "even-up" and Scarsdale could be included in that group ... Newburgh, Pittsford Sutherland and Webster Thomas are not far behind ... The relative closeness based on speed makes the pre-ranking process more difficult and factors other than speed (such as head-to-head results, actual merged results, good team resumes submitted by the coaches, etc) should come into play.
