Boys 800m Meters ... approaching 400 meters ... winner Erik VanIngen (Marathon) leads Christian Smith (Trumansburg) ... Erik ran the opening 400m in 56.8 and led the entire race ..... Erik also won the 1600m the previous day (4:20.10) ... In the 1600m, I was told that Erik opened a sizeable gap on Christian Thompson (Candor) with an opening 400m of about 62 seconds (opening 200m of 30) ... he then split roughly 68 and 68 which allowed Thompson to close the gap, but then finished with a strong 62 final 400m.
