The State Qualifier selects athletes to compete in the NY State Championships at the Carrier Dome (March 8, 2003) ... The top two individuals qualify in each event (and the winning relay team) ... the 3rd place finisher in each individual event qualifies if reaching a State qualifying standard) ... four runners also qualify for the Intersectional Relay event (1000-200-600-1600). |
3000 Meter Run ... approaching 1600m ... Brittany Crawford (FM) has a slight lead on Ashley Hughes (Phoenix) and Marie Parks (CNS) ... this was a good race ... Crawford and Hughes exchanged the lead several times ... Hughes finished very strongly over the final lap ... but a real good effort by the top four runners ... Hughes had even 1500m splits of 5:14.7 and 5:15.7 |
