Sixty teams were entered in Hobart/William Smith Invitational hosted by the Section 5 Rochester Winter League ... most teams were from Section 5, with a few teams from Section 6 and one Section 4 team (Corning) ... the meet had FAT timing ... Katie DeRusso (Fairport) was a dual winner in the 3000m (10:37.93) and the 1500m (4:59.4) |
Girls 3000 Meter Run ... approaching 800m ... winner Katie DeRusso (Fairport) leads Becca Nungesser (Clarence) and Shannon Griggs (Hilton) ... DeRusso opened a 25m lead on the field at 1200m and passed the 1500m mark in a very good 5:08 (1600m in 5:28.4) and won the race handily all by herself ... Nungesser ran gamely to be second, and was followed by three good Hilton runners. |

(2) 1/125 to 1/200 shutter speed (most at 1/160) with maximum auto aperture at 3x to 5x Optical Zoom (F2.3 to F2.4) ... (3) ISO 400 or ISO 200 or ISO 800 (most at ISO 400) ... (4) 2560x1920 pixel image (Fine image resolution creating a 2.3 MB jpg file) ... The low lighting conditions in Bristol Field House are poor (but much better than Manley Fieldhouse) for taking action digital photographs and require substantial post-processing since the photos come out dark and somewhat grainy (digital noise) ... Post-processing of images accomplished with Adobe Photo-Shop Elements 2.0 and, if required, Neat Image (the best value program available for removing digital noise) ... Photos are optimized for web display only (reduced in size, cropped, and JPG compressed) ... these web -photos are low resolution versions of the actual images.
